When I tell people that I have cut down my entire "getting ready" time from 1 hour to 12 minutes, they are shocked. Especially if you knew me in high school- my family nearly passes out when I visit and am ready in less than 15 minutes. They remember a girl who would wake up at 4 am sometimes in order to curl my hair and be ready before 6:30 scriptures and 7:00 early morning ambassador practice. Every hair had to be perfect. Luckily, I am not nearly as picky anymore, and have experimented to find a fast, yet still attractive make-up/ hair routine. With a baby, you only have so much time to do so. I thought I would share on here my mommy make-up tricks. Today: The perfect canvas. This covers just the base, blush and bronzer part of my getting ready routine.
First, I gather my supplies.
I start with my base. I use Infallible, by Loreal
I have skin that is dry, and if I don't moisturize, my skin tries to make up for it, and over compensates with oils- which causes acne... not a great look for me.
To save time, I combine my base and my moisturizer and apply to my face like I would lotion.
So I take some base and some moisturizer and put them on my hand like so:
Then, I mix it all together and apply to my face in splotches:
It may sound silly, but I like using my fingers rather than a sponge, I hate wasting product, and I seem to get way more bang for my buck this way. The combination of mixing the moisturizer and using my fingers to apply seems to give it more of a natural airbrushed look after drying.
All rubbed in!
This is the look I always do in the mirror while doing my makeup! hahahaha. We all have one.
Afterwards, I pull out my choice in bronzer and blush
and apply like so:
This seriously takes less than 2 minutes.
P.S. Today I am grateful for naps.
